Bachaā
Phonetic transcription of the sweet loving name that parents affectionately give to their children in Hindi.
The story of a life
Bachaā is the story of two lives, of a meeting, that of Mélanie and Mathieu.
For almost twenty years, Mélanie, the creator of our wonderful collections, has worked for the biggest French ready-to-wear brands (including The Kooples, ZAPA, IKKS, Bonton, Gérard Darel…) with the help of all her teams based in India, a few kilometers from Mumbai.
For just as long, Mathieu, a committed, curious and creative entrepreneur, has been supporting companies, advising them on a daily basis and encouraging their development.
They both share the same human and environmental values.
Together in life, Mathieu and Mélanie wanted to combine their professional experiences, their teams and their know-how in a common project.
They drew inspiration from their lives, their travels, their encounters, but above all from their children.
The story of a birth
“Bachaā is an idea that began to germinate in our heads several years ago and that has become obvious to us.
We love to travel, we love to discover, we love to learn, share and meet new people.
We are fascinated by craftsmanship, attracted by vintage, details and beautiful things.
We have four children.
Together, we wanted to create a brand that reflects our life, our convictions and our values. A brand that offers sustainable, high-quality clothing, produced in ethical, responsible and respectful conditions for workers.
A bohemian, poetic brand that brings old-fashioned fashion up to date.”
